8-Hr RCRA Hazardous Waste Generator

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

This course meets the basic training requirements of the EPA for personnel who generate, manage, or dispose of RCRA hazardous waste. Topics covered in this course include hazardous waste regulations, drum handling, emergency response guidebook, hazardous waste characterization, hazardous waste labeling, hazardous waste manifests, managing universal wastes, and PPE. AMA provides a certificate and pocket ID card for each student upon successful completion of the course.

8-Hour DOT HAZMAT Employee Refresher

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

This annual refresher course is required for individuals with current DOT HAZMAT Employee training. AMA provides a certificate and pocket ID card for each student upon successful completion of the course.

8-Hr DOT HAZMAT Employee

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

This course is intended for anyone that loads, unloads, transports or handles hazardous materials; prepares hazardous materials for transportation; or has responsibilities for safe transportation of hazmats.  Detailed desktop activities are included.  This course meets the requirements of 49 CFR, Part 172, Subpart H – Training for Hazmat Employees. AMA provides a certificate and pocket ID card for each student upon successful completion of the course.

8-Hour Confined Space Entry

This Confined Space training course meets the requirements of 29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA (Construction) and 29 CFR 1910.146 (General Industry) for Permit-required Confined Spaces. Students completing the course will be proficient in functioning as authorized entrants, attendants, and entry supervisors in permit-required confined space entry operations. They will acquire the understanding, knowledge, and skills to safely perform their assigned confined space duties. Each student will also receive basic training in performing non-entry rescue.

Subject matter covered in this course includes:

  • The Confined Space OSHA regulation requirements for Construction and General Industry.
  • Classification of confined spaces as permit-required, non permit-required, or alternative procedure spaces.
  • Roles and responsibilities of Entrants, Attendants, Entry Supervisors, and Contractors.
  • Respiratory protection.
  • Identification and isolation of hazardous energy (Lockout/Tagout).
  • Atmospheric monitoring requirements and instrumentation.
  • Completion of the Entry Permit.
  • Confined space ventilation.
  • Non-entry rescue utilizing a tripod and other retrieval methods.
  • Confined Space Entry Program.
  • Confined space-related terminology.
  • Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Practical exercise utilizing retrieval device.

Note: This course is not intended for entry rescue operations.

AMA provides a certificate and pocket ID card for each student upon successful completion of the course.

OSHA 10-Hour for Construction

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

These courses provide employees with safety training on a variety of OSHA topics and will be customized to address site-specific safety training needs.  These courses are conducted on two consecutive days.  Students receive a certificate of completion and course completion card from OSHA upon completion of the course.

OSHA 30-Hour for Construction

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

These courses are designed for supervisors, foremen, directors, site safety officers, and project managers who are responsible for OSHA compliance at their construction sites, company, or facilities.  The 30-Hr. for Construction focuses on 29 CFR 1926 regulations and the 30-Hr. for General Industry focuses on 29 CFR 1910 regulations.  Overview of OSHA, basic electrical safety, machine guarding, ladders, scaffolds, excavations, cranes, PPE, confined space entry, tools and equipment are some of the topics that may be included.  Students receive a certificate of completion and course completion card from OSHA upon completion of the course.

8-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER First Responder Operations Refresher

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

This annual refresher course is required for individuals with current HAZWOPER First Responder Operations training. AMA provides a certificate and pocket ID card for each student upon successful completion of the course.

8-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER First Responder Operations

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

This course fulfills the training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(ii) for personnel who will initially respond to hazardous materials incidents in a defensive manner.  First responders at the operations level will protect people, property and the environment from the effects of the release.  The course may be tailored to individual company emergency response plans. AMA provides a certificate and pocket ID card for each student upon successful completion of the course.
