2-Day Virginia Project Monitor

Students must complete either the 5-Day AHERA Supervisor or 3-Day AHERA Project Designer course as a prerequisite.

This initial course is for persons performing air monitoring and final air sampling on asbestos abatement jobs in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This training is required on NESHAP-sized projects in an occupied building; a building intended to be occupied at completion of project or whenever the building owner deems necessary.   This initial course is also recognized by the State of Delaware. An AMA certificate is provided for each student upon successful completion of the course.

4-Hour OSHA Operations & Maintenance Refresher

This refresher course is for individuals who have completed the initial 16-Hour Operations & Maintenance course.  This course reviews the information presented in the initial course, such as asbestos and its uses, health effects, engineering controls, respiratory protection, and work practices.  Federal and State regulatory requirements are also reviewed.

The annual refresher is a requirement of the State of Maryland and OSHA. An AMA certificate is provided for each student upon successful completion of the course.

16-Hour OSHA Operations and Maintenance

This initial course is required for maintenance and custodial staff who conduct activities that may disturb asbestos or presumed asbestos containing materials.  This course meets OSHA Class III training requirements.

Note: Persons conducting O&M activities in the State of Maryland  must have an asbestos contractor’s license, and therefore must have a 5-Day EPA AHERA Asbestos Supervisor (competent person) on the project.

An AMA certificate is provided for each student upon successful completion of the course.

1-Day EPA Asbestos Project Designer Refresher

This refresher course is required for AHERA Project Designers to maintain their EPA/AHERA Project Designer accreditations.  The course covers the fundamental components of developing asbestos abatement project designs and writing asbestos abatement plans.  It also provides updated information on regulatory developments and state-of-the-art approaches to abatement.

This refresher course meets the AHERA, ASHARA and TSCA Title II Accreditation for project designers. An AMA certificate and is provided for each student upon successful completion of the course.

3-Day EPA Asbestos Project Designer

This course is required for all individuals who will design any asbestos abatement projects or write asbestos abatement plans.  Classroom presentations and realistic case study scenarios provide participants with a solid foundation for developing responsible and efficient asbestos abatement project designs, specifications and work plans.

This course is required for any design or abatement plan over three (3) square feet or three (3) linear feet. This course meets the AHERA, ASHARA and TSCA Title II Accreditation for project designers. An AMA certificate is provided for each student upon successful completion of the course.

1-Day EPA Asbestos Worker Refresher

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

This refresher course is required annually to maintain a person’s abatement worker certification.  This course meets the AHERA, ASHARA and TSCA Title II Accreditation for asbestos workers. The course updates local, state and federal regulations with emphasis on the skills and knowledge needed to properly perform asbestos abatement operations.  Topics covered in the 4-day course are also reviewed. An AMA certificate is provided for each student upon successful completion of the course.  Oral examinations are available upon request.

4-Day EPA Asbestos Worker

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

The EPA requires this initial course for workers engaged in the abatement of asbestos-containing materials and who will not be the competent person. Classroom instruction is combined with practical hands-on activities to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the asbestos abatement workplace.

This course meets the AHERA, ASHARA and TSCA Title II Accreditation for asbestos workers. An AMA certificate is provided for each student upon successful completion of the course. Oral examinations are available upon request.

1-Day EPA Asbestos Inspector/ Management Planner Refresher

This annual refresher course is for individuals that have a current EPA AHERA inspector/management planner accreditation. Individuals with inspector/management planner accreditation must take both the inspector and management planner refresher.

This refresher course meets the AHERA, ASHARA and TSCA Title II Accreditation for asbestos inspectors. An AMA certificate is provided for each student upon successful completion of the course.

2-Day EPA Asbestos Management Planner

3-Day EPA AHERA Inspector is a prerequisite for this course.

The 3-day EPA AHERA Inspector certification course is a prerequisite for this course.  As required under EPA/AHERA and State of Maryland regulations, this course provides the information necessary to create an asbestos management plan and correctly assess the hazards of in-place management of asbestos-containing materials (ACM). An AMA certificate is provided for each student upon successful completion of the course.
