OSHA 10-Hour for Construction

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

These courses provide employees with safety training on a variety of OSHA topics and will be customized to address site-specific safety training needs.  These courses are conducted on two consecutive days.  Students receive a certificate of completion and course completion card from OSHA upon completion of the course.

OSHA 30-Hour for Construction

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

These courses are designed for supervisors, foremen, directors, site safety officers, and project managers who are responsible for OSHA compliance at their construction sites, company, or facilities.  The 30-Hr. for Construction focuses on 29 CFR 1926 regulations and the 30-Hr. for General Industry focuses on 29 CFR 1910 regulations.  Overview of OSHA, basic electrical safety, machine guarding, ladders, scaffolds, excavations, cranes, PPE, confined space entry, tools and equipment are some of the topics that may be included.  Students receive a certificate of completion and course completion card from OSHA upon completion of the course.

8-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER First Responder Operations Refresher

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

This annual refresher course is required for individuals with current HAZWOPER First Responder Operations training. AMA provides a certificate and pocket ID card for each student upon successful completion of the course.

8-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER First Responder Operations

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

This course fulfills the training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(ii) for personnel who will initially respond to hazardous materials incidents in a defensive manner.  First responders at the operations level will protect people, property and the environment from the effects of the release.  The course may be tailored to individual company emergency response plans. AMA provides a certificate and pocket ID card for each student upon successful completion of the course.

8-Hour Hazardous Materials Technician Refresher

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

This annual refresher course is required for individuals with current Hazardous Materials Technician training. AMA provides a certificate and pocket ID card for each student upon successful completion of the course.

24-Hour Hazardous Materials Technician

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

This course fulfills the training requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(iii).  It is for personnel who respond to hazardous material releases.  This course is applicable to industrial and institutional emergency response teams.  Students will receive extensive supervised practice in the control of hazardous substance releases. AMA provides a certificate and pocket ID card for each student upon successful completion of the course.

This annual refresher course is required for individuals with current OSHA HAZWOPER training certification. AMA provides a certificate and pocket ID card for each student upon successful completion of the course.

40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

This course provides the basic knowledge and techniques required for workers who are potentially exposed to hazardous substances and health hazards while performing contaminated site work activities.  This course meets the initial training requirements of OSHA’s HAZWOPER standard (29 CFR 1910.120; 29 CFR 1926.65) and includes respiratory protection, lockout/tagout, hazard communication, confined space entry, and personal protective equipment. AMA provides a certificate and pocket ID card for each student upon successful completion of the course.

3-Day Mold Inspection & Assessment

This intense 3-day course will address the procedures and protocols involved in inspecting and assessing a building for mold growth. Students will advance their understanding of building construction and HVAC issues related to conditions that may promote microbial growth. Types of microbial contaminants, sampling strategies, collection and handling as well as data interpretation will be discussed. Sampling equipment will be used in hands-on practical exercises to familiarize students with the various procedures for collecting microbiological contaminants. Industry guidelines as well as local laws and regulations, including the District of Columbia will be presented. The course will conclude with a written examination. Successful completion of this course is recognized by the District Department of Energy and Environment (DC DOEE) for application for licensure.

2-Day Microbial Remediation Worker

This course is offered in English and Spanish.

This course is recommended for individuals who will be working on mold remediation projects.  Cleaning and restoration personnel, as well as, facility maintenance personnel will benefit from the basic knowledge and techniques recommended to safely respond to areas contaminated with mold. AMA provides a certificate and pocket ID card for each student upon successful completion of the course.
